MAX CAVALERA Talks About His Forthcoming Autobiography In New Video Interview
April 16, 2013A four-minute clip of Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SEPULTURA) talking to Superskum.com about his forthcoming autobiography, "A Boy From Brazil", can be seen below. Due before the end of the year, the book is being written by British rock author Joel McIver, whose 20 books to date include "Justice for All: The Truth About Metallica", "Crazy Train: The High Life And Tragic Death Of Randy Rhoads" and "Glenn Hughes: The Autobiography". The book's foreword was written by Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, ex-NIRVANA),who was' "really thrilled" to do it, Max said. "Dave's always been a great guy," Cavalera added. "He used to come to see SEPULTURA play in Seattle every time we played; even after NIRVANA got big, he would still come and see us play in little clubs." Among fellow musicians who were interviewed for Max's autobiography were Ozzy Osbourne, Chino Moreno of the DEFTONES, Tom Araya of SLAYER and Mike Patton of FAITH NO MORE.
Max's 21-year-old son, Zyon Cavalera, joined SOULFLY as its touring drummer for the band's recent rampage through North America.
Zyon previously played with SOULFLY during the band's tour of Brazil in February 2012.
It is Zyon's unborn heartbeat that can be heard during the intro of SEPULTURA's classic song "Refuse/Resist", which appeared on the band's RIAA-gold-certified "Chaos A.D." album, released three years before Max's departure from the group.
Drummer David Kinkade (BORKNAGAR, ARSIS, MALEVOLENT CREATION),who played on SOULFLY's latest album, "Enslaved", left the band last October in order to focus on his personal life.
